The problem: My wired connection is non-existent. In this video, it attempts to connect, but drops, attempts, and drops, etc, etc. My attempted resolutions: Connect laptop directly to cable modem: Failed Connecting brothers Dell laptop to same cable as used by the laptop, the Dell found the wired network and connected properly. Updating drivers/computer: Failed Live boot of Ubuntu: Failed Took apart laptop to check for anything disconnected within computer hardware: Failed - Wiggled cable in computer jack: Failed I'm chalking this up to a failed part on the motherboard... My laptop: Toshiba A105-S4024
